9 Days 8 Night | Kilimanjaro Trekking Northern Circuit
Day 1: Moshi to Mti Mkubwa via Londossori gate.

Your day will begin with a 3 to 4 hrs drive from Moshi to the Londosori gate for permit paperwork and other formalities ready to head to the Londorossi/Lemosho glade where the trek to Mti Mkubwa camp for your overnight stay begins. 

Amenities: Experienced Mountain guides, porters, and a chef 
Experience: A trek through a dense foggy rainforest with small wildlife such as black and white Colobus and the Dik Dik from the gate. 
Distance & Duration: 2 to 3hrs - 6km.
 Meals: Lunch & Dinner.
Elevation: 2895 m/9500 ft.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa camp to Shira camp.

A short yet challenging trekking day of only 4 to 5 hrs, due to the steep nature of the trail and ridges before arriving at the Shira plateau.

Amenities: Experienced Mountain guide/ guides, porters, and chefs.
 Experiences: a journey through Moorland and valley with breathtaking views of the valleys, the panoramic scenery, and the Kibo glacier view.
Duration and distance: 4 to 5hrs hiking a distance of 8km.
 Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. 
Elevation: 3480 m/11420 ft.

Day 3: Shira 1 to Shira Hut

A smooth trek on this day, with a moderate walk across the Shira plateau, there are various options, but the best is via Shira plateau through the Shira cathedral and to the Shira 2 camp.

Day 4: Shira Hut to lover tower then to Moir Camp

The day kick-starts with a steep walk through to the lava tower, which is the volcanic plug, formed 2.5 Million years ago. Arriving at the Shira hut, the Junction between the Machame route and Shira route. Diverting the main trail to Moir Hut, a base of Lent Hills offers an excellent acclimatization opportunity.

Day 5: Moir Camp to Buffalo Camp.

The day commences with trekking out of the Moir Valley with a moderately steep climb, followed by a hike to the summit of Lent Hills before retreating to the main trail. The path crosses a rock field and gentle undulating rocky path before taking you to the Buffalo Camp.

Duration and distance: 5 to 7hrs hiking a distance of 12km.

Day 6: Buffalo Camp to Rongai third Cave

A challenging hike day heading up the Buffalo Ridge, rarely traveled the terrain becomes increasingly sparse giving you a true feel of the mountain. As the route not being popular as it is from here you will enjoy the mountain wilderness feel. Arriving at the third Cave you will rest preparing for the next day.

Day 7: Third camp to school hut

A day before climaxing the roof of Africa, you will have a steady climb up and over the “Saddle,” which sits between the two mountain peaks the Kibo and Mawenzi. You will then ascend to the camp where you will enjoy an early dinner and have a good night's rest preparing for the big day (Summiting).

Day 8: Summit Day then descend to Mweka camp

A super exciting & dream come true day, a mentally and physically challenging day of the trek where you will reap the fruits of your labor by summiting the roof of Africa. 
Starting early around midnight, you will begin your advance to the summit at the Uhuru peak. Extreme wind and cold and hours of ascending in the dark. Arriving the Gilman's point you will be greeted by the most magnificent sunrise you have ever experienced and you will make your descent straight down to the Mweka Hut campsite.

Experience: A magnificent sunrise at the Uhuru peak challenging rocky trail and rainforest approaching Mweka camp
Amenities: Professional mountain guides, on the summit, chef.
Duration and distance: 6 to 8hrs ascending and 5 to 6 hrs descending a distance of 5km up and 13km down.
Elevation: 15,600 ft to 19,341 ft up and 19,341 ft to 10,065 down.
 Meal plans: Breakfast, Lunch & dinner.

Day, 9 Mweka camp to Mweka gate, then back to Moshi
This is the last day of your trek, you will have morning breakfast at the camp and continue the descent towards Mweka gate where we will be waiting to take you back to Moshi. 

Experience: Wet and muddy forestry ways. 
Amenities: Professional Mountain guides, chef, and porters.
Duration and distance: Hiking of 3 to 4hrs a distance of 10km.
What to see: The dense rainforest and its features. 
Elevation: 10,150ft to 5500ft.
Meal plans: Breakfast.
